Celebrity Style: Zac Efron

Jul 26, 2010

This time I decided to focus on casual menswear, and the celebrity that I think best embodies that is actor Zac Efron. He's best known for his role on HSM. His new movie Charlie St. Cloud premieres July 30th.
I really like how wearable his style is; very comfortable yet well thought out. Here are some looks:

The Rise of the Celebrity Model

Jul 14, 2010

Chace Crawford for Esquire UK's August Issue
The modelling world is a tough place - no doubt about it. It's pretty hard for aspiring models to successfully launch their careers anyway, but are celebs making it even harder?
I can't help but notice that so many brands are using more and more actors, singers, soccer players, etc. as their image - and PR wise it's a solid choice. Just think Emma Watson for Burberry, Megan Fox & Cristiano Ronaldo for Armani, Olivia Palermo for Freda, and the list could go on forever.
More photos after the jump, including America's Next Top Model winner Krista White and Twilight's Ashley Greene:

Celebrity Style: Olivia Palermo

Jul 9, 2010

Over the last few weeks Alice and myself have been talking a lot about Olivia Palermo - or more precisely her style - so I decided I should put together a post about her.
For those of you who don't know her, Olivia is a New York socialite. She works for Elle in the accessories department, and stars in MTV's "The City" alongside designer Whitney Port and Roxy Olin. Olivia also designed her own jewelry line, and occasionally models.
Probably the best thing she's good at is picking out clothes - her taste in fashion is undeniable, and her style is perfect. Here are some of Olivia's best looks:

"Sketch to Screen: The Art of Hollywood Costume Design" Exhibition

Jul 6, 2010

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art organized an amazing exhibition that explores the vital contribution of costume designs throughout the history of the American motion picture industry. It consists of over 80 garments and accessories worn in films by some of the industry's biggest stars.
Honestly, I believe that costume designers have quite a hard job, as they have to create an outfit that best describes the era portrayed in the movie, while also being true to the character's own personality and making it believable at the same time.
My favorite pieces by far are the ones that won the Oscar for best costume design - pictured above is the dress from Titanic.

"Dress to Impress - Vintage & Hand-made Fair" Review

Jul 4, 2010

Earlier today I attended Dress to Impress - Vintage&Hand-made Fair, which took place at a really cool venue called Villa Rodizio. I love this type of events, especially because I think it's a great way for young designers to show their creativity and get their name out there.
I have to say that the location was a perfect complement to the pieces that were shown within. It all came together, creating an environment that could gain anyone's attention - I should know, I said to myself I would only drop by for a quick minute and ended up staying a lot more. Also, I'm glad Smaranda agreed to come along and help by trying on some items (she ended up buying some of them).
Here are some photos I took of different things that caught my eye:
