"Marilyn: August 1953"

A book featuring a collection of over 100 unseen Marilyn Monroe pictures was recently published. The photos were shot by photographer John Vachon for LOOK magazine, in Alberta, Canada during the summer of '53.

Marilyn Monroe was named the sixth greatest female star of all time by the American Film institute, and has been one of the biggest pop and cultural icons for more than half a century.

The then 27-year old actress was filming her movie "River of No Return", but due to an ankle injury she couldn't shoot for several days. Monroe is pictured with her then fiance - Joe DiMaggio. Vachon was the only photographer they formally posed together. 

Only 3 photos were used in the magazine.

More ZARA Products Coming Soon

Apparently ZARA still has some surprises for their customers. They released another image for their Autumn/Winter Campaign, and some products are listed as "coming soon" for now, so make sure to check their website, which has a "new this week" feature.
Also, ZARA will be launching a magazine sometime this month. Excited?
I've already put together a list of items from their Fall collection that I want to purchase and I could barely stop adding products.

Olivia Palermo for Mango

American style icon Olivia Palermo has been generating a lot of buzz lately in the industry. Elle stated that she is currently "Sienna-famous", meaning "she attracts as many flashbulbs if not more than [...] Jude Law's girlfriend". Olivia has recently modeled for Freda and Hogan, and now she joined Scarlett Johannson and Poppy Delevingne in a Mango ad campaign.

Awesome Architecture: Cooperative Credit Bank

I was really surprised when I found out that this building was in fact a Bank. I just saw a beautiful building, and my first thought was that it could be a spa or an art gallery.
This project was created by Studio Kuadra, a firm mainly made up of young architects who like to think outside the box. Situated in Fossano, Italy - this branch of the credit agency truly manages to stand out as a work of art, due to the smart use of materials and lighting, and also a well thought-out floor plan.

Belinda Liu at London Fashion Week

Romanian designer Belinda Liu will be unveiling her Spring Summer 2011 Collection this Saturday during London Fashion Week at the off-schedule "A La Mode" show.
Belinda presented her Autumn Winter Collection earlier this year during Bucharest Fashion Week. Inspired by sex and fetishes she makes empowering outfits for women, but at the same time retaining an element of playfulness.
Liu is a self taught designer who prefers to follow her instincts rather than theoretical, structured learning. Belinda admits that she started leaving her mark on garments as far back as she remembers, and pursuing a career came naturally to her.

Ikea 2011 Catalog

Ikea released it's newest catalog on September 1st. I was really excited about this, because I think Ikea is really popular right now because it offers such good quality and design at relatively low prices. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed because there aren't many new items, but on the brighter side the ones that have been around for some time now have lower prices, and that's always a good thing.

BoConcept 2011 Catalog

Here are a few shots from BoConcept's newly released 2011 catalog. I have always been a huge fan, I admire their clean lines, fabric & styling choices. All their pieces are absolutely beautiful, and it's impressive how effective a little restraint can be - it proves that you shouldn't go over the top with interior designs to make a statement.

Another wonderful thing is how versatile their collection is, and combined with the opportunity they give their clients to customize the products, it makes it able to fit in any type of space.
