Project Runway 9 Finale Collections - NYFW

I am a huge reality TV fan, I admit it - from The Real Housewives to The City. Project Runway is no exception. I remember that I started watching the show in 2007, during my first year as an architecture student, and I was immediately hooked, because I could definitely relate on some level (time constraints are an ordinary thing for me).
The show is now airing it's ninth season and the remaining designers just revealed their collections at New York Fashion Week. However, the top 3 designers - whose collection compete for the ultimate prize - were joined by another 6, in order for the show to remain spoiler free, since it's just mid-season. While each collection had some stand-out pieces, I think it's safe to say that not all of them exuded the same quality level and coherency.
I've decided to share a few images from that I believe should be the top 3, and here they are:

Anya Ayoung-Chee
Anya has been sawing for just around one year, but her talent really shines through, and the way she works with prints is amazing.

Anthony Ryan Auld
Although colorblind, his choices of color are indisputable. His collection is inspiring, and features some stunning shapes.

Laura Kathleen
I think the reason why her collection stood out was that she edited everything, and as a designer that's often hard to do, but ultimately her collection looked incredibly elegant and polished.

Also, I will be covering more of Fashion Week - the menswear collections, so come back soon!

  7. Wow! Amazing collections. How I would love to go to Fashion Week and just drool over the offerings. The only TV I watch is Dancing with the Stars and I haven't watched it yet this season. I think I need to budget more time into my evenings to sit and relax with entertaining tv.

  8. I love the great patterns here. The structures are also really incredible. As much as I like the flouncy skirts, I think I'm absolutely in love with the straight cuts!

    Sincerely,
    Sabrina
