Model Takeover - Strellson F/W 2011-2012

Aug 31, 2011

Strellson is going all out with it's newest campaign, shot on the streets of New York City. Enlisting some of the most buzzed-about male models right now, including Andrija Bikic and the Sampaio twins, the brand really succeeded in getting some amazing shots and highlighting amazing designs.
Check out all of the photos and, of course, a behind-the-scenes look next:

Back To School Mood

Just a few days from now I'll have to retake a couple of exams, and it's time to take out the books and start preparing - very exciting indeed, I know.
One of the two is an oral exam, and no matter how hard I study I always get nervous and usually end up either not saying much or rambling on endlessly. Okay, so maybe I made it sound like a bigger deal that it actually is.
Anyway, as  I'm mentally preparing to start studying, I figured I should share a few "back to school" inspirational photos:

Outfit Post: Out Of Focus

Aug 29, 2011

As you can see from these photos I'm a huge fan of  wearing gray. It's not that I don't do color, cause if you check out my other outfit posts you'll see that's not the case, but it's because for me, a day usually involves leaving the house in the morning and returning at night (or, depending on the amount of work I have, the next day for a quick shower). That's pretty much why gray and black are my top choices, because it's something I can wear to school/the office/meetings/etc.

Here I've combined a gray blazer with a basic black t-shirt and a grey blouse, and added just a bit of color with navy pants and the most comfortable brown shoes I own, hahaha.
These pics were taken actually a while ago, when my friend Denisa wanted to test out her new camera lens, which she just bought and that's why I'm a bit out of focus, but still, these photos are probably some of my all time favorites, so I hope everyone likes them as well.

Getting Ready For Fall

With Fall just around the corner, it's a must to start thinking about what you'll be adding to your shopping list.  Do you have your wishlist ready yet?
Even though I'm postponing some shopping trips because of the weather, I did get a chance to check out some online stores. And I wanted to show you some pieces from Superdry, which is one of the hot brands right now on
Superdry has a really wide range style-wise, so there's definitely something for everyone, from knitwear to leather jackets and everything in between. Expect to find items that are more casual oriented and with a rough, urban edge to them.
Now what immediately stood out to me was the military coat pictured above, because if you've been reading my blog you know how much I love military inspired clothing, and that I think it'll never be out of style. Also, I found a great pair of boots that sort of remind me of the TV show Supernatural, and a leather jacket that's actually on sale right now, both pictured below.
Buying some new jackets is a priority for me right now, I must admit. Let me know, what are your picks for this season?

Sean O'Pry: Making of Versace F/W 2011-2012

Aug 28, 2011

As I've said before, I'm a huge fan of Versace's latest campaign, which has some great shots - not only are the clothes amazing, but I also like the apocalyptic vibe of the photos.
You've probably noticed, behind-the-scenes and making of videos and photos are becoming more and more important in the fashion industry, so I wanted to share with you a couple of cool, making of photos from Versace's Fall/Winter campaign, with Sean O'Pry modelling their menswear collection:

Fun In The Sun

Aug 27, 2011

While the heat outside doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, it's time to say goodbye to Summer, as September is just around the corner.
Can you believe it? I think Summer went by so fast, it's incredible. But I'm not complaining, to be honest I've never been one who particularly enjoyed such warm weather. While some think of January 1st, or perhaps Spring as the start of a new year, that for me that is September, mostly because of school.
I can't believe that 4 years have already gone by since I've started attending the University of Architecture - just two more left. Does it sound weird that I'm actually glad classes are starting again? While during the semester I can't wait for a vacation, during Summer the completely opposite thing happens. I just like having my schedule full I guess, relaxing is fun, but just for a short while, and  while I did have some project to keep me busy it can't really be compared to what's going on during the school year, when 12 hours of daily work seems like child's play.

So, with that in mind, I really do hope everyone's enjoying this last weekend of Summer. Be it going on trips, partying or just getting some rest, did you get to do everything you wanted during this sunny season?

ZARA Man August 2011 Lookbook

Aug 26, 2011

I'm so glad ZARA released a new lookbook, I've really been missing those the last couple of months. However, no hard feelings, cause now we get to see some amazing looks for Fall. How awesome is the jacket in the first photo, right?
And here are some more photos of Matt Loewen modelling the brand's oh-so-stylish menswear clothes. I can't wait to find the coat version of that amazing trench in the photo below:

Hey guys. The last few weeks so many new campaign photos were released, and I am absolutely amazed by how great they look. While the main focus is of course to showcase the new collections, there are so many other factors that go into creating a remarkable campaign: finding the right models, the right concept for the shoot and of course, the right hair and make-up. All of these things help create a spectacular vision.
I wanted to talk a bit more about hairstyles, because as I'm sure you've noticed the models' hair is always picture perfect - as it should be. Take for example Tobias Sorensen or Jon Kortajarena, who always rock amazing hairstyles. Even though they have short hair, I love how it can be styled in so many different ways.
I have short hair as well, and the truth is that sometimes I do feel like changing things up a bit, but it is quite tricky because short hair can be somewhat stubborn at times, and achieving salon results at home can take some work, but it's by no means impossible - you just have to find the right products for you.
What I believe really helps is straightening your hair, because it creates a softer look that's so much more easy to style. For example the ghd mini styler is the ultimate styling tool for short hair, and is perfect for men. And if you use hair wax afterwards you're pretty much set.
Got any other tips and tricks for short hair? Let me know.

Jon Kortajarena | Making of Kokorico

Aug 25, 2011

Remember when a while back I told you how excited I was about Kokorico? Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male is currently my favorite fragrance and I can't wait for this one to be released! I'm sure I'll love it!
Here are some behind the scenes photos, as well as a cool making of video, featuring the talented Jon Kortajarena:

Also, if you didn't get the chance, check out more images from the campaign on my previous post.

Funhouse Moment

Aug 24, 2011

I thought these photos would go perfectly with my last article, about the Shanghai Museum of Glass. The shots were actually taken when me and Olga, one of my friends, went out for a cup of coffee and some shopping.
We were walking through this amazing passageway filled with colored glass panes, so we decided to take few moments and snap a couple of photos of ourselves. I've never been in a house of mirrors, but this is what I imagine it would be like.

What do you think? We were going for the funhouse vibe, but looking back, the photos look more like a deleted scene from Black Swan, hahaha.
