Must Watch | Spartacus: Vengeance
Undoubtedly one of my favorite TV shows this year is the new season of Spartacus: Vengeance. After a jaw dropping season finale in Spartacus: Blood and Sand (the first season), followed by a substantial, but definitely understandable hiatus - the show is now back and better than ever!
The only bad thing I can think of is that the second season only has 10 episodes and it's already halfway through! Other than that, I can do nothing but applaud the writers, who truly surprise me with every episode, the cast for bringing the characters to life (especially Liam McIntyre, who took over the lead role after Andy Whitfield's death and who is doing a spectacular job!) and the crew for delivering a great message; I was never a fan of green screens and CGI, but I think that by now the show's team has mastered the technique, and the backgrounds I think are incredible. There are coupon codes for Target available if you're looking to buy Spartacus on DVD or Blu-Ray.
Here are a few of my favorite stills from the new season:

Divas of POP Illustrations: Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga becomes part of the "Divas of POP" series. Anyone who reads my blog knows I'm a huge Gaga fan, so I believe this illustration doesn't come as a surprise!
Pop has always played a huge role in my work. Be it pop culture, pop art or pop music, it's all served in one way or another as inspiration for me. Divas of POP is a series of illustrations I'm currently working on, featuring some of the most talked about artists in pop music. The style in which the illustrations are done is something between a traditional tattoo, pop art and GTA cover art.
Hope you guys like my new illustration - prints are now available for purchase on my Society6 shop!

A Matter of TIME
"Time" is the name for one of John Clang's projects. I have to say that it's quite a cool concept and the collage technique works really well in this case, it's visually stunning!
Here's a bit more about the project:
"A series that involves recording a location, to show the passing of time in a montage style. There is a sense of intimate intricacy of how time moves, and how people, albeit in a different time, are actually closer to one another and traveling in the same shared space.
I’ve always been intrigued by the constant subtle changes in my urban environment. Every subtle shift affects my feelings and thoughts, hence my images respond acutely as a poetic reflection of myself in this environment.
Working on this series, I explore how time moves in this seemingly static urban space. The people become the moving energy flowing through this space, marking the changes, forming the time. These images also explore my fascination that there are probably many time dimensions in this universe.
We may have a ‘life’ that exists similarly on a different path, one minute before or after the one we’re living now. We merely just exist in this current dimension, and sometimes when time paths collide, we have déjà vu experience."

New Obsession! H.E. by Mango S/S'12
Spanish football player Gerard Piqué is once again the face of H.E. by Mango. The company just released it's 2012 Spring/Summer campaign and let me tell you the photos, which were shot by one of my all time favorite photographers - Mariano Vivanco - are beyond amazing!
H.E. by Mango keeps it classy by bringing us some wonderfully tailored pieces which I'm sure every man will want to own. Also, here's definitely a day-to-evening quality to the collection which is always a plus - basically you can wear the clothes anytime, anywhere.
Check out all of the campaign photos next:

Winter Ain't Going Nowhere! Calibre A/W 2012
Australia's amazing menswear brand Calibre gears up for Winter 2012 with a great campaign, featuring garments that I'm sure you'll be wanting in your wardrobe! My eye is going right for the all black outfits to be honest - there are quite a few pieces that I absolutely love.
Winter 2012 sees the return to elegance, cleanly cut tailoring with a contemporary edge. After a decade of dark, grey winters, colour becomes the driving force behind the Calibre AW12 collection.
Check out the campaign to find out all the things that can happen in an elevator:

Divas of POP Illustrations: Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj joins Lana Del Rey in my Divas of POP series. I absolutely love Nicki, she has such an amazing, colorful personality and that's what I was trying to capture with this illustrations.
Truth be told, I often find myself having one of her songs in my head - unfortunately it's not a very pretty picture when I try to sing them.
Hope you guys like my illustration - prints are now available for purchase on my Society6 shop!

Anamorphic Illusions: Creative or Costly?
I think everyone enjoys a great optical illusion, but is it art or just a gimmick? Artists like Felice Varini, whose work is featured in this article has been using them in his career for over 30 years.
Anamorphic illusions are effective when viewed from a specific angle, but as an architect I was always taught that taking into considerations various angles is a must. After all, it's not like everyone will be standing in the exact same spot when viewing your work, and when viewed from any other angle, these type of illusions just look like a bunch of incohesive, random shapes.
By no means am I trying to undermine this type of work, it is in fact pretty cool, yet I can't help but find it quite gimmicky. What are your thoughts? Take a look at more photos next:

New Illustration: The Final Mystery
If you've been reading my blog lately, you probably already know how much I love Antony Morato's latest campaign. Well, the other night I felt inspired, so I decided to create a new illustration based on that.
I felt like channeling an old school detective vibe, so that's the look I was trying to convey with this piece. Perhaps it's also the result of playing Alan Wake non stop for the last couple of days! Take that and add a pinch of Sin City along with an Oscar Wilde quote and voila! Hope you guys like it!
Prints, along with other goodies, are now available for sale on my Society6 shop, so make sure to check it out.
